Rekorderlig Pear basted Bbq basted ribs
With long summer days and the time for endless braaing fast approaching why not try these for a slight twist on a usual favourite and crowd pleaser.

Ingredients
  • 800ml Rekorderlig pear cider
  • 1cup tomato sauce
  • 4tbsp shaved palm sugarsubstitue with brown if you don't have palm sugar
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1tbsp Worcestshire sauce
  • 2tsp smoked paprika
  • 1.5kg pork ribs
  • 1.5litre chicken stock
Instructions
For the sauce
  1. Place 300ml of the Rekorderlig in a heavy based saucepan along with the palm sugar and reduce by 2/3, allow to cool
  2. Whisk all of the ingredients together. Check seasoning and adjust if necessary
  3. If not using all immediately, place in a sterilised jar and store in the fridge for up to two weeks
For the ribs (pre-heat oven to 180*)
  1. Place ribs in a roasting dish and season with salt and pepper
  2. Pour over the stock and cider and cover with a lid or tightly with aluminium foil
  3. Cook for 1-1 1/2 hours until ribs are cooked through, remove and allow to cool
  4. Ensure coals are hot, place ribs onto the grid and baste with the Bbq sauce, continue to do so, turning all the while until the Bbq sauce has caramalised
  5. Serve immediately (with an ice cold glass of the Rekorderlig Pear cider off course!)
