Rekorderlig Pear basted Bbq basted ribs
With long summer days and the time for endless braaing fast approaching why not try these for a slight twist on a usual favourite and crowd pleaser.

Ingredients
- 800ml Rekorderlig pear cider
- 1cup tomato sauce
- 4tbsp shaved palm sugarsubstitue with brown if you don't have palm sugar
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1tbsp Worcestshire sauce
- 2tsp smoked paprika
- 1.5kg pork ribs
- 1.5litre chicken stock
Instructions
For the sauce
- Place 300ml of the Rekorderlig in a heavy based saucepan along with the palm sugar and reduce by 2/3, allow to cool
- Whisk all of the ingredients together. Check seasoning and adjust if necessary
- If not using all immediately, place in a sterilised jar and store in the fridge for up to two weeks
For the ribs (pre-heat oven to 180*)
- Place ribs in a roasting dish and season with salt and pepper
- Pour over the stock and cider and cover with a lid or tightly with aluminium foil
- Cook for 1-1 1/2 hours until ribs are cooked through, remove and allow to cool
- Ensure coals are hot, place ribs onto the grid and baste with the Bbq sauce, continue to do so, turning all the while until the Bbq sauce has caramalised
- Serve immediately (with an ice cold glass of the Rekorderlig Pear cider off course!)
