The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town will team up with CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa), Le Creuset and Pongrácz to present an exclusive ‘Cuppa for CANSA’ Pink High Tea fundraising event on Thursday 1 October 2015 (from 10h00 to 12h00), to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Guests are encouraged to round up female friends and family, dress up ‘pretty in pink’ and indulge in the pink themed delicacies on offer.
This special event will kick off with a welcoming glass of Pongrácz Rosé, followed by an amazing selection of pink treats. There will be freshly baked scones with strawberry cream, Pink velvet cupcakes, Strawberry macaroons (yum!), Rose panna cotta and more, not forgetting Bea’s famous cheesecake, served with a forest berry gel. For those who love chocolate you’ll be able to feast on Pastry Chef Nathan Jacobs’ Chocolate brownies coated with pink chocolate and Chocolate éclairs with berry glaze. There will also be savoury bites to be had, such as delicate finger sandwiches, including Smoked salmon with cream cheese, Chicken mayonnaise with toasted almond and Roast beef with horseradish and rocket, as well as the traditional Egg mayonnaise and Cheese and tomato varieties. Some of these treats feature cancer fighting ‘super-foods’ that are high in antioxidants.
The event will take place in the hotel’s Atlantic Terrace Marquee overlooking the ocean, 70 guests will be able to enjoy this glamorous high tea in honour of the fight against the disease, and during the event a breast cancer survivor will share her courageous story.
Cost is R300 per person, with over 50% of proceeds donated to CANSA (Tables of 10 may be reserved too.) If for whatever reason you are unable to make this special day you may also book an individual Pink High Tea throughout the month of October. Priced at R225 per person, which includes an entry into a Le Creuset competition to win a pink Chiffon Tea Pot, R10 of each tea stand sold will be donated to CANSA. The Twelve Apostles Hotel Pink High Tea will be served daily in The Leopard Bar, Conservatory and Café Grill between 10h00 and 16h00, throughout October.
