World-renowned celebrity chef, Daniel Redondo is about to rain one big drop of Brazilian cosiness and desire on The Mother City, where he’ll collaborate with our own celebrity chef, Reuben Riffel in the kitchen during winter. Both of them vow to offer an exciting cooperative dinner at Reuben’s One&Only on Saturday, 27 August 2016. Can you imagine dining on a special dish, in a once in a lifetime opportunity to indulge in Redondo’s award-winning cuisine from Maní in São Paulo, Brazil, while getting lost in the cuisine and luxury with fine hospitality for which Reuben’s ONE&ONLY is so prominently known for?
Maní is rated as the top restaurant in São Paulo, Brazil and often appeared in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The restaurant is set in a house, rich in historical value in São Paulo’s flourishing Jardim Paulistano neighbourhood. The restaurant offers outstanding hospitality and a dining experience of high calibre. It consists of a main dining room and a tree-filled private courtyard.
In his awaited trip to South Africa, Daniel Redondo stated: ‘I was born in Spain but I have a Brazilian soul, and I look forward to showing my passion and ingredients to a Cape Town audience. South Africa has such a rich culture to discover and, for a chef, it is even more interesting and important as it brings inspiration to my work. I have never been to Cape Town and I am sure it will be a great adventure’.
Reuben Riffel and his team are well-prepared and welcoming the prospect of collaborating with the chefs from Maní restaurant. He adds: ‘Daniel’s food is modern Brazilian, and it’s exciting to have the opportunity to work with him and his chefs. His cooking methods are not dissimilar to what we are doing locally, so there will be synergy in our thinking. We will focus on our signature Cape-style dishes with a twist, utilizing the best local ingredients and traditional flavours’
