Luxury at Cape Town’s Vineyard Hotel

The difference of a family run hotel is felt the minute you enter the Vineyard hotel. There is a welcoming and warmth that is sometimes not felt at other 5 star establishments. This is evident not just in the feel but also in the service. From the way you are greeted to the way your check-in is handled. Now whilst I may have in previous detailed posts told you about the restaurant and spa, here is a little bit more on the hotel itself
I was lucky enough to stay at this very special hotel, and it really is a space created not only for tourists but I firmly believe for locals as well. It was like a home away from home, one I wished I could have stayed in just a while longer…okay, a lot longer!
This luxury hotel based in the leafy and green suburb of Newlands in Cape Town is steeped in over 200 years of history. It is also surrounded by exquisite landscape and sits on the banks of the Liesbeeck river. The hotel boasts 207 rooms, each tastefully decorated and featuring unique works of art by South African artists carefully selected to suit each one. There are many accommodation options available to suit both pocket and needs, namely, courtyard facing, courtyard deluxe, mountain facing, mountain deluxe (these are my personal favourites), mountain suites, garden facing junior suites, river facing junior suites, river facing suite, garden cottage, Francois suite and Kitty suite. All room types have en-suite bathrooms with a separate shower, and everything else you’d expect of such an establishemnet such as air-con, wi-fi, mini-bar, complimentary tea/coffee and water, also satellite colour flat screen TV’s and more…

Now I did mention that the hotel was surrounded by exquisite landscape and in addition to this the hotel also boasts two swimming pools, one outdoor with exquisite mountain views and one indoor, which is heated and situated next to the hotels top class fitness centre.

But if that isn’t enough, I must make mention of the Angsana Spa, operated by the world renowned Banyan Tree Group. I did of course indulge in treatments while I was there, and I say it boldly, the Angsana Spa remains my top pick for a spa in Cape Town. The tranquility but also quality of all treatments always supersede my expectations. The spa alone warrants a visit to the hotel, you’ll just need to trust me on that.
There is so much more I could say and so much more there is to say, and because of this I took the time to interview Efi Ella, rooms division manager at the Vineyard Hotel. His passion and dedication to the Vineyard Hotel brand was felt the whole way through the interview so take a listen here:

And then of course there was the food, the glorious glorious food, now I mentioned that I had written about that previously, but in case you missed it… http://www.sueannallen.com/2015/01/square-restaurant-vineyard-hotel/

I would encourage anyone to take the time to visit the Vineyard hotel. It is special. Just really really special.
