The Mhondoro Game Lodge is the new lodge on the block. The lodge opened at the ‘Big 5’ Welgevonden Game Reserve in the Waterberg, in one of South Africa’s most exotic provinces, Limpopo province. The chosen location is malaria-free and the lodge keeps its company rather petite. Only a total of 20 guests are allowed at a single time. In terms of sleepers, the lodge caters for a variety of people with different demographics:

• A 2-bedroom Executive suite
• A 2-bedroom Family suite
• A romantic Honeymoon suite with a private spa pool and viewing deck with a daybed
• A Villa that can accommodate six guests
Private and luxurious, the Mhondro Villa is ideal for families and travel groups. It consists of a breath-taking master suite, en-suite bathrooms, two additional bedrooms, yoga room, private gym, special wines, local branded beers, soft drinks, a game-viewing safari vehicle with an assigned game ranger and the services of a personal chef, butler and housekeeping staff.
The Mhondoro Game Lodge is owned by the Dutch and the lodge itself is a blend of African elegance and sharp Western influences. The interior of the lodge was gracefully done by the prominent designer, Myriam Vogel who also happens to be the wife of the owner. Breath-taking views and luxury accommodation, fine food and outstanding hospitality are some of the definite attributes of the lodge.
Mhondoro lodge has a custom designed deck, dedicated to gazing at the stars on beautiful summers’ evenings. There is also an outdoor waterhole linked to the lodge by a tunnel, with a subversive game viewing hide. The hide is ideal for finding opportunities to photograph game from interesting angles and to get up-and-close with the country’s wildlife. The heated swimming pools and gym are great for recreation and the Massage Suite, consisting of a private outdoor spa deck and bath, is ideal for relaxation.
The Game Lodge is 100% child-friendly, with a dedicated play area surrounded by an elephant fence. There is also a play room will a variety of games where the kids can enjoy themselves.
All-inclusive rates start at R3700 per person sharing per night (low season 1 May to 30 August 2016) and include all meals, local drinks and house wines, twice-daily game drives, reserve entrance fees and scheduled transfers from the Welgevonden main gate.
