Pigalle – A dinner and dance experience

The Pigalle dining experience really does start the very minute you enter the door.
From the opulent interior and great welcoming service you know that you are in for what can only be described as a beautiful evening.

Pigalle in Greenpoint is one of Cape Town’s larger restaurants offering fine-dining, but it is so much more than that. It is a dinner and dance experience venue which Cape Town has been enjoying for years. Live entertainment perfectly matches a sublime dinner experience, and the venue also boasts a private dining room and cigar lounge.

The menu is approachable and boasts familiar favourites. For starters one can find beef carpaccio, black mussels and oysters, all beautifully prepared, but being a fan of scallops I couldn’t resist and they were exquisite. They are served alongside a spring onion risotto with a hollandaise sauce which is decadently rich, but a must try.
The wild mushroom ravioli is also very popular which I’ll be sure to have on my return.
When it comes to the mains and the ordering thereof I’d have to highly recommend the seafood platter for two. It boasts baby lobster, prawns, langoustines, line fish, calamari and mussels prepared in their own unique recipe sauce. Each piece of seafood is cooked to perfection and so flavourful. My mouth simply waters at the memory…
But if seafood isn’t your thing there are a wide variety of meat cuts available to enjoy, along with carefully prepared sauces, and I have heard that the Springbok loin on basil mash potato, with wilted spinach and a port wine jus is to die for.
For those who enjoy full dining experience, the dessert menu certainly doesn’t disappoint. Crème’ brulee, Hot malva, Pavlova, they are all on offer, as is a Chocolate Fondant with pistachio ice-cream…I know you can’t resist…
If dancing isn’t your thing then there is the bar which is the perfect place to grab a seat and sip on a whiskey or brandy while you listen to the music and the evening draws to a close.

Making my Pigalle dining experience so memorable was not only the great food and atmosphere, but the attentiveness and great service offered by each staff member which is so rare these days. I simply cannot wait to go back for more.
